Holi, feliz año
¿Cómo estás? Espero que hayas tenido bonitas fiestas de fin de año. Yo, por mi lado, llevo ya unas semanas en mi casa en Hermosillo. Pasé muy bonitas festividades, disfrutando los días juntos sin mucha fanfarria, con mucha comida y mucha familia. Ahora que ya se fueron todos y que la vida aquí está regresando a la normalidad, me di el tiempo de sentarme a escribirte un poco.
En el viaje a Japón sigue contarte sobre nuestra siguiente parada: Kyoto. Pero antes de seguir con la tierra del sol naciente, quiero tomar un momento para reflexionar sobre el 2025, un año que resultó ser uno lleno de todo. Fue un año lleno de aventuras. También estuvo lleno de momentos difíciles, los cuales seguro me están preparando para todo lo que vendrá.
Por un lado, cumplí muchos sueños o metas que tenía en mi vida. Por fin fui a Japón, algo que me parecía imposible cuando era chico y que no solo cumplió todas las expectativas que tenía, sino que las superó por mucho. También pude traer a amigos a mi casa en México, algo que me hacía mucha ilusión desde hace mucho tiempo. Y a finales de año por fin terminó mi proceso de ciudadanía alemana, quitándome un peso de encima sobre mi futuro y asegurando que pueda regresar sin problemas.
Uno de mis propósitos del 2024 era renunciar a ZSW. Y al terminar el año también terminó mi contrato con ellos. Ya tenía años diciendo que me iría, pero aun así tuve sentimientos encontrados. Fue un lugar donde aprendí muchísimo y tuve la fortuna de conocer a personas que ahora puedo llamar mis amigos. Espero tomar todo ese aprendizaje y usarlo en los nuevos retos que me traiga este 2026, pues será un año lleno de cambios.
Por último, quiero dedicarle este correo a mi nana Cuca, que ahora está descansando tras una larga vida. Que en paz descanses, nana.

Hi, happy New Year!
How are you? I hope you had a lovely holiday season. As for me, I’ve already been back home in Hermosillo for a few weeks. I had some really nice holidays, enjoying time together without much fuss, with lots of food and lots of family. Now that everyone has left and life here is slowly going back to normal, I finally took some time to sit down and write to you.
On our trip to Japan, I still need to tell you about our next stop: Kyoto. But before continuing with the land of the rising sun, I want to take a moment to reflect on 2025, a year that turned out to be full of everything. It was a year full of adventures. It was also full of difficult moments, which I’m sure are preparing me for everything that’s yet to come.
On the bright side, I fulfilled many dreams and goals I had in my life. I finally went to Japan, something that seemed impossible to me when I was a kid, and it not only met all my expectations but far exceeded them. I was also able to bring friends to my home in Mexico, something I had been very excited about for a long time. And at the end of the year, my German citizenship process finally came to an end, taking a huge weight off my shoulders about my future and making sure I can come back without any issues.
One of my goals for 2024 was to quit ZSW, and by the end of the year my contract with them also came to an end. I had been saying for years that I would leave, but even so, I had mixed feelings. It was a place where I learned a lot and where I was lucky enough to meet people I can now call my friends. I hope to take all that learning with me and use it in the new challenges that 2026 will bring, because it will be a year full of changes.
Lastly, I want to dedicate this email to my grandma Cuca, who is now resting after a long life. Rest in peace, grandma.
